WWF INTERNATIONAL PHOTO CONTEST RULES

TO ENTER THE CONTEST

  • Enter the contest between 5-23 October 2015.
  • Submit your photos via Instagram or Twitter
  • Your entries must include the hashtag: #carefortheocean.
  • You must hold the copyright of all images you submit.
  • Only images submitted during the contest dates are eligible to win.
  • You may enter as many photos as you like.
  • All ages and countries are eligible.
  • If your photo includes recognizable individuals (people), you are responsible for obtaining the necessary permission from the individuals depicted, and must be able to provide copies of those releases to WWF if requested.

CONTEST JUDGING AND PRIZING

Participants are encouraged to vote for their favorite images on the campaign website.

  • Contestants may vote on an unlimited number of entries, but only one vote per image.
  • Video submissions are allowed, but only still images are eligible for prizes.
  • WWF reserves the right to disallow any image that appears to have received malicious or fraudulent votes.
  • Voting closes on 25 October.
  • WWF judges will select 3 winners from the top 50 most voted images. The following prizes are subject to change at the sponsor’s discretion:
    • 1st place: GoPro Hero4 Black, 1 year subscription to exposure.co
    • 2nd place: GoPro Hero4 Session, 1 year subscription to exposure.co
    • 3rd place: GoPro Hero, 1 year subscription to exposure.co
  • The winner will be announced during late October, stay tuned!
  • Winners will be contacted through Instagram post with a @mention. Winners must contact WWF and provide the following information within 10 business days to claim their prize:
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Valid email
    • Country of origin
    • Date of birth
    • 140 word description of their image, where it was taken, technique or camera used, what they like about the image and why they care for the ocean.
  • Failure to provide full information within 10 business days will result in disqualification and alternate winners will be contacted.
  • The winner’s name will be included with the winning photo and published on the WWF websites, email, social media or in any other medium (digital and printed), at WWF’s discretion. Example:

ELIGIBILITY

No donation, purchase or obligation of any kind is necessary and will not increase the chance of your photo being featured in WWF communications. The WWF Photo Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law. Employees, agents, current contractors and relatives of employees of World Wide Fund For Nature (Formerly World Wildlife Fund), or any WWF National Organization are ineligible.

CONTEST TERMS AND ENTRY DEADLINE

The contest opens 5 October 2015 and closes 23 October. Images can be submitted through Instagram or Twitter and must include the hashtag #carefortheocean. Voting for the contest is located on images.panda.org/carefortheocean. All entries must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on 23 October.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personal information collected from entrants will be used by WWF to administer the contest and in connection with the publication of the winning images. The Sponsor will not share personal information relating to entrants with any third parties, except as necessary for the administration of the contest or as may be required by law. WWF will not attempt to contact the entrant for any other purpose than to administer the contest or as may be required by law unless they have opted-in to receive relevant communications from WWF. WWF respects the privacy of everyone who enters the contest.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All entry materials become the property of WWF and will not be acknowledged or returned. The copyright in any submission shall remain the property of the entrant, but entry in this contest constitutes entrant's irrevocable, perpetual permission and consent, without further compensation or attribution, to use the submission and the entrant's name, Instagram or Twitter handle for editorial, advertising, commercial and publicity purposes by WWF and/or others authorized by WWF, in any and all media now in existence or hereinafter created, throughout the world, for the duration of the copyright in the submission. WWF and/or others authorized by WWF shall have the right to edit, adapt, and modify the submission. Each entrant releases and discharges WWF, the judges, any party associated with the development or administration of the contest, their employees, agents or representatives or any of their parents, subsidiaries, sister companies, or affiliates from any and all liability in connection with the contest, including without limitation, legal claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages, demand or actions of any kind.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless WWF and judges and their respective partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives, from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this contest or any contest-related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder.

As a condition of participating in this contest, entrants agree that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between and among the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this contest shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. In any such dispute, under no circumstances shall any entrant be entitled to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorneys' fees, other than participant's actual out-of-pocket expenses (if any) associated with participating in the Contest, and all such parties hereby waive all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

If, for any reason, the contest is not capable of completion as planned, including by reason of fraud, act of God, or any other factor beyond WWF’s reasonable control which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this contest, WWF reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

By accepting the terms and conditions, entrants confirm that they; are the copyright holders of the submitted images and that no third party has any right or claim to the entry; grants the following non-exclusive rights in perpetuity to WWF; to store, copy, and make the Images available for all WWF offices world wide on electronic equipment, CD-ROM, DVD or other similar media; the rights to use the images free of charge in any manner or purpose and sub-license the images to third parties for non commercial use.

WWF International will credit the photographer using their name or submission handle whenever an image is used. Entrants will hold WWF harmless from any breach of copyright.

WWF International reserves the right to delete, move or edit entries that we deem abusive, defamatory, obscene, in violation of copyright or trademark laws, or otherwise unacceptable.

Entrants may withdraw their entry by sending written notice to images@wwf.panda.org.

WWF International will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, or misdirected submissions, or for unauthorized human intervention, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by any technical or human error, which may occur in the processing of entries in the Contest, including but not limited to any misprints or typographical errors.
